From Linate Airport (solution with public transport):

Subway M4 to “Milano Dateo”+ Train S13 from “Milano Dateo” to “Pavia Train Station”: take the Subway M4 to “Milano Dateo” (departures every 5 minutes); fare: 1,50 euro one way, luggage ticket costs 1,50 euro.
– take the ATM AIR BUS to Milan Central Station (timetable), the journey takes about 25 minutes; fare: 5 euros one way;
and then take a train to Pavia S13 from “Milano Dateo” to “Pavia Central Station”; train fare: 4 euro one way

From Malpensa Airport (solution with public transport):

by train, using the MalpensaExpress Shuttle to Milan Central Station (22 daily trips; the journey takes about 30 minutes; fare 12,00 euros). Then take a railway connection to Pavia. The train timetable and prices are available on the Trenitalia website.
– by bus, using the Airport bus express between Malpensa Airport and Milan City Centre. Service frequency is every 20 minutes during the day. The journey takes about 50 minutes; ticket fare: 8,00 euros one way.

From Orio al Serio Airport (less convenient airport):

– Solution (Bus + Train from “Milano Central station” to “Pavia Train Station”: Bus using the Airport bus express between Bergamo-Orio al Serio Airport and Milan City Centre. Service frequency is every 30 minutes during the day. The journey takes about 60 minutes; ticket fare: 12,00 euros one way.

By train

From “Milano Central station”

There are three kind of train you can use to get to Pavia: http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en

• S13: part of the Milan subway service, it takes about 30 minutes to get to Pavia from Milano Rogoredo; Pavia is the final stop (stop also in “Milano Dateo”) • Regional or Cross Regions Trains (they usually have an R before their identification number): they take 15 minutes to get from Milan to Pavia, but Pavia is not their final stop. Remember to get off.

• Long Distance train: Italy has a very innovative and rich system of long distance trains. The ones that stops in Milan and Pavia are called Intercity. Please note that the ticket costs more if you decide to take this train (double the price of S13 and Regioanls) but you will be assigned a seat and they usually have priority on other trains.
